Our goal is to make sure no one in Rockland County goes to bed hungry!
WHO WE ARE
Since 1989, when it was first incorporated as a nonprofit organization, People To People has been providing aid to those in Rockland County who have fallen through the support system safety net and who find they need short term assistance with food, clothing or guidance.
People To People receives 5% of its funding from the government with the rest of its monies coming from private donations. 92% of the money it receives is used to help the community- an outstanding rate for a nonprofit organization.
An audited statement is available upon request.

The North Rockland Breakfast Club
Located in St. Peter's Church in Haverstraw and staffed entirely by volunteers, this "Soup Kitchen" has been serving a hot nutritious breakfast and a bag lunch to approximately 65 guests daily, since 1987.
Through the participation of restaurants, catering firms, corporate dining rooms and supermarkets, nutritious food which would ordinarily go to waste is turned into well balanced, delicious meals, and then distributed to organizations countywide by People To People. This program has been providing more than 100,000 lbs. of food annually since 1992.
Pennies From Heaven
By saving millions of pennies, schools, clubs and community groups have helped raise thousands of dollars.
The Santa Project
For the past 20 years, the generous people of Rockland County have been making Christmas dreams come true by answering letters to Santa, written by needy children. Toys, clothing, a holiday meal plus a few things for mom and dad have been delivered to more than 2,500 addresses since the program's inception.
County Food Cupboard
Thousands of people who have fallen on hard times, come to the food pantry to pick up much needed food, formula and clothing.
By sending just $18.00 per month, families in Rockland County are helping other families keep food on the table.
Referral & Emergency Service
1-800-HUNGRY-2 a 24 hour, 365 day a year hotline, provides referral services for people who don't know where to turn for help.
Without volunteers, there would be no People To People. Dedicated members of the community volunteer on a regular basis for the following jobs:
- OFFICE WORK
Working the phones, helping to coordinate the food share program, dealing with paper work etc., dedicated people help with the day to day operation of the Nyack office.
Working in weekly shifts, volunteers pick up and deliver food.
Stocking shelves after one of the numerous food drives, these people help to keep the warehouse full.
- SOUP KITCHEN
Offering their time in weekly shifts, people in the community help to prepare and serve food to those in need.
"TOGETHER, WE HELP OUR NEIGHBORS MAKE IT THROUGH TOUGH TIMES WITH DIGNITY AND COMPASSION."
